Did you know that it is a legal requirement to segregate, safely store and correctly dispose of all hazardous waste materials?

All companies in the UK are required by law to make sure that hazardous waste materials are disposed of in accordance with their duty of care responsibilities, in a manner that poses no harm to humans or the environment. Failure to do so could result in your business being prosecuted. Fines of £1000 to £5000 have been frequently levied for the unlawful disposal of hazardous waste. Many companies however are increasingly concerned about their corporate socialresponsibility profiles and wish to be pro-active on compliance in this regard – Haz Stop are a company that can help you avoid such fines and provide complete assurance of compliance with hazardous waste legislation.

How do I know which items of waste are classified as hazardous?

Hazardous Waste Materials are present in almost all work places. Items such as: light bulbs, batteries, print toner, aerosols, cleaning chemicals, solvents, adhesives, paints, oils, oily rags – even empty containers of such are considered hazardous!
